A Happy life = Long life.

Monday is not supposed to be terrible as some people put it to be.a huge number of people who work office jobs are dissatisfied with their jobs, and after a long weekend Monday reminds them of another week doing what they hate for a boss who doesn’t appreciate them.studies have shown that Monday holds the highest number of suicides among people who work in jobs that don’t motivate them. Joseph Campbell the famous scholar of mythology gave the 12 steps to fulfilment in which one of the steps was to not base your decisions on financial gain. While getting a salary is important sacrificing your happiness for money as to big a trade. Joseph Campbell says that the same vase made by a porter who loves what he does and by one who hates who hates his job is that one has a soul.

My hope is built in nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness is one of the lyrics to one of my favorite Christian ballads. Nothing in life is guaranteed only death and taxes are certain. I was recently going through a difficult period feeling discouraged, dejected, despaired all negative emotions in one cup. I was contemplating throwing in the towel at once but a voice inside me was encouraging me to keep on. I realized that on the Christ the solid rock I could only stand all other grounds were shifting sands. A sermon by TD jakes changed my perspective completely, he was talking about how the miracle is not what is lost but what is left.Challenges make us stronger and more prepared for promotions in life set in front of us. It’s funny how life hits us when we are least prepared leaving us vulnerable and miserable.av learnt how to let go and let God as me as a finite human being with my thinking cannot figure out everything. I like science and how it makes our life easier and m…

Good Leaders? No Thank You

Democracy, transparency, equality, diligence and many other good words, were the epitome of governance. Those were the days when Martin Luther King Jr. meant something to our leaders since they would at least pick quotes from his speeches. Then came the days when quoting the Luthers of this world became old school, or at least our leaders felt so. Several decades down the line and now came the new generation leaders and you will be surprised at how they have revolutionised the game. They not only pick quotes from great orators but the whole speech. Yeah, they pick the whole speech.
You may be forgiven to think that this only happens in countries experiencing a midlife crisis with their democracies but if you look closely, maybe you are right. Take for instance the Ghanaian situation. This is a mature democracy – at least going by African standards. These guys held a free, fair and transparent election. Free, fair and transparent. I had to repeat that because in Africa the only thing …

Water shortage should be a thing of the past

On a recent trip to Dandora sewerage plant Nairobi city water and sewerage company in Ruai, Nairobi I saw for myself how lack of planning and vision can put a capital city in December 2016 there was an announcement that beginning 2017 there will be water rationing in Nairobi water rationing starting new sure you are wondering what water rationing has to do with sewerage, let me explain. If the water from Dandora sewerage plant is recycled (don’t cringe just yet) and tapped back to Nairobi estates the problem will not exist. The rain has failed us and there are reports that it will for the first six months of this year. Depending on Ndaikaini and Abedare as our rain fed water sources is no longer a viable option. The water from Dandora is recycled and released to Athi River which eventually ends up in Indian Ocean, what a Namibia they recycle their sewerage as it being a desert country needs to be economical in their water spending.

In 2017 please no Fakes

We live in a world where people live by the motto '' fake it till you make it'' and I think people are taking this too far.what would be the reason for you faking it all the time whilst you are not making it.Do not get me wrong once the mentality of faking gets to your brain it never leaves it, in fact, bring along with it its baggage.almost everyday you hear in the news about a counterfeit drug, brandy, cigarette etc now am wondering who in his right mind would go ahead and make a fake painkiller you really don't care about people if you can do this.i hear this painkiller have and after effect worse than your headache.we have others like fake matchboxes and this is what inspired me most to write this piece.fake products from china have flooded our market (Kenya) we just hope their roads are not comparable as their products.fake clothes, cream, hair just to mention a few. my personal favourite fake pastors who claim to be miracle workers aka prophets yet they demand …

Keep going...

Today morning i decided to go for a morning jog so as to burn fats, not that am overweight or anything its just for health purposes.while jogging i started feeling a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, am sure you are all familiar with this kind of pain if you are not a regular jogger. It go so worse that i was contemplating stopping but since i could see the finish line i decided to continue, surprisingly the pain went away about 10 meters from the finishing line.what am i trying to say by this illustration. if you have set your eyes on a goal do not take excuses as shortcuts to stop no matter how hard the circumstances might be.PRESS ON.Am not trying to be a motivational speaker, am just talking the plain truth.what materialised today morning was so phenomenal that i have decided to write about it.whenever you feel like quitting ask yourself what would i gain by quitting as compared to what i would gain by finishing.

wonders of life

There are certain things that happen in life that even a world renown neurologist cannot explain. I will list some of them and I know for sure that you will conquer with most of them if not all. let’s get started.
Do you always wonder why when looking for something u never find it, and when u aren’t looking for it it’s always there?

Do you wonder like I do why doing something you ought to do is hard like submitting an assignment but watching a movie or hanging out with friends is more enjoyable? is it laziness or what?

Staying in a house of worship for more than 2hrs is painstakingly hard but partying all through the night is easy.
I still wonder why 80% of what I think about never happens.

When applying margarine on a slice of bread and it happens to fall it always lands on the side which has the margarine applied on. always try it if you don’t believe me.

The Lost state of African leadership

From African literature, you will be forced to believe that the state of Africa has changed completely over the years. Walk into an urban centre like Nairobi you will see a completely different lifestyle opposite to what authors like Ngugi Wa Thiongo or Magaret Ogola present in their novels. People adopting to the western way of life faster than the time you take to read the terms and conditions on a piece of software assuming that you actually do. Talk about abandoned traditional and cultural practices an exhaustive education system and a religious way of life that abandons shrines and sacred trees, this is the image of the new Africa.
The phenomena of urbanisation have brought about great benefits which we will forever cherish but also stripped us naked with no identity. The people of West Africa have remained true to their roots from their music, dressing celebration of culture e.g.: Calabar festival. I was proud to see the new president of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo during his sw…
